Tanner is a licensed marriage and family therapist with a deep passion for helping teenage boys navigate the challenges of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and related struggles. Known for his ability to build strong, trusting connections, Tanner creates a safe and supportive therapeutic space where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered to grow. With over a decade of experience in the mental health field, Tanner has worked in both outpatient and inpatient settings, including six years providing direct care in a residential treatment center for adolescent boys. His approach is grounded in empathy, authenticity, and a belief in each client’s capacity for change. Tanner earned his bachelor’s degree in Family Studies from Utah State University and a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Wisconsin–Stout. As a therapist, he integrates evidence-based modalities such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), along with experiential and relational approaches. His training in family systems allows him to support not only the individual teen but also the family as a whole—working to restore healthy communication, trust, and connection at home. Tanner has a particular talent for helping teens feel safe while challenging them to grow. Whether helping a young person confront intrusive thoughts, navigate emotional overwhelm, or rebuild strained relationships, his calm presence and clear guidance make him a steady and encouraging ally on the path to healing. Outside of work, Tanner enjoys the beauty of the Utah mountains. You’ll often find him hiking, snowboarding, or mountain biking—activities that reflect his belief in balance, adventure, and staying grounded. Tanner is honored to walk alongside teens and families as they work toward greater peace, resilience, and connection.
