Porter is the Executive Director of Cascade Lodge and has spent the last ten years working in residential treatment, specializing in the care of adolescents navigating anxiety, OCD, and related disorders. He joined Cascade in its earliest days and has played an integral role in shaping the program as it’s grown into a trusted name in adolescent mental health. Porter served as Program Director at Cascade Academy, where he helped lead the clinical and residential teams, and was part of the founding team that opened Cascade Home. His leadership eventually brought him to Cascade Lodge, where he now oversees operations, programming, and strategic vision. Porter holds a degree in Psychology and is currently earning his Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University. His area of specialization and research focuses on Moral OCD—an often misunderstood and debilitating subtype of obsessive-compulsive disorder. He is passionate about integrating evidence-based practices with compassionate care, and his academic training complements a decade of hands-on experience in the field. Porter’s leadership is rooted in collaboration, clinical integrity, and a deep respect for the people he serves. He considers it a privilege to work with an organization that not only holds itself to the highest standards, but continues to lead the field in innovative, ethical, and effective treatment for anxiety and OCD. Outside of work, Porter enjoys outdoor swimming, searching for the best oat milk latte Utah has to offer, and spending time with Copper, his loyal Mini Bernese Mountain Dog and part-time emotional support assistant for the students of Cascade Lodge.
