Originally from North Carolina, Heather discovered her love for the outdoors as an adolescent and experienced firsthand the powerful impact of recreation and adventure therapy. Drawn to the mountains, she moved west to attend Utah State University, where she earned her degree in Social Work and Human Development in 2022. Heather has worked with a variety of populations in different settings but found her passion in helping adolescents build confidence, joy, and resilience through outdoor recreation. A licensed Therapeutic Recreation Technician, she thrives at the intersection of therapeutic processing and adventure-based learning, guiding students as they face challenges and overcome fears in real time. Outside of work, Heather enjoys camping, pottery, skiing, canyoneering, rock climbing, cooking, river rafting, gardening, and finding peaceful moments in nature. She lives near Ogden with her fiancée and loves exploring Utah’s endless outdoor playground. Heather plans to pursue a Master’s in Social Work in the future to continue her journey as a clinical therapist.
